Delegates from across the Sub-Sahara Africa, on Tuesday morning, thronged the ornate auditorium of the Eko Convention Centre, Lagos, Nigeria, venue of this year's edition (2022) of the 6th Sub-Saharan African International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (SAIPEC) hosted by the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN).
The annual event which began this Tuesday morning, February 22nd, 2022 will close on Thursday, February 24th. The SAIPEC occasion is a well organized meet of the entire Sub Saharan Africa energy community, designed for them to connect, collaborate and create. About 6,000 well heeled industry professionals are meeting for the three days to creates a platform for unrivaled business opportunities and to interact among themselves under the platform of over 150 organizations.
The event currently being hosted by PETAN, was inaugurated seven years ago to foster collaboration by providing an engagement platform for all the key stakeholders in the oil and gas industry in Sub Saharan Africa. The SAIPEC's objective remains to provide opportunities to leverage on experiences and ensure regional collaborations between National Oil companies (NOCs), international oil companies (IOCs), multinational and indigenous service providers in Africa.
SAIPEC has always set precedence for an honest debate to enable the continent develop and progress by setting the blueprint the NOCs and regulators need to adapt their strategies to the IOCs through independent sessions on local content discussions. The on-going SAIPEC confab started Tuesday morning with the Regulator Roundtable which will be followed by three full days of conference and exhibition, and concluding with the PETAN Golf Tournament which is now in its second year.
Speakers and delegates from across more than 25 countries, are presently meeting at the SAIPEC event to set an agenda for Africa’s evolving oil, gas and energy industry. The program of events for this year's strategic conference lists speakers and heads of NOCs from Liberia, Uganda, The Gambia, Gabon, Somaliland, Mauritania, Namibia, Angola, Sierra Leone, Mozambique, Ghana and Kenya.
It also featuring opening keynote addresses from top oil and gas Nigerian companies, regulatory agencies and visiting senior-level delegates. Over 100 exhibitors will partake in showcasing their industry solutions and innovative technologies to develop business across the oil, gas and energy value chain. The SAIPEC exhibition is equally providing exhibiting companies with many fantastic opportunities and much exposure.
