In continuation of their yearly support to host communities, the BUA Cement Company, on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, donated cement to host communities in the Wamakko local government area of Sokoto state.

The donated cement which has a market value of over ten million nairas was meant for 70 communities in the local government

Speaking before the presentation, the Managing Director of BUA, Engr Yusuf Haliru Binji, reassured that they enjoy cordial relationships with their host communities.

Binji who was represented by the Head of Administration and Corporate Affairs of BUA, Mr. Sada Suleiman, added that the company has been executing numerous other corporate social responsibilities to all host communities.

While stressing that this particular assistance was meant to help in facilitating the execution of development projects such as the renovation of Mosques, public wells, Islamic schools, and other structures that are of public interest.

He further added that BUA has been engaging in numerous other community development projects such as the provision of potable drinking water, electrification projects, rural roads, healthcare services, educational materials support, scholarships, women and youth empowerment, amongst others in both Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States.

“As a corporate organization, we deemed it necessary to give back to the society what was given to us by supporting our host communities,'’ he said.

Thanking BUA cement for their gesture, the Chairman of Wamakko LGA, Alhaji Bello Haliru-Guiwa, represented by his Local Government Secretary, Alhaji Chika Umar, urged other companies across the country to take a cue from BUA.

Both the council chairman, Haliru Guiwa, and the District Head of Wamakko, Alhaji Aliyu Barade, recalled that BUA recently donated assorted drugs to six primary health care centers of the different host communities. NNL.
