Professor Mu'azu Abubakar Gusau has been announced by the governing council of Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) as the third substantive Vice-Chancellor of the university following a keen contest for the position.
A statement by the university's Information Officer, Umar Usman, said the announcement was made by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Rt. Hon. Yissa Ezekiel Benjamin on Thursday, 10th December at the University's Council Chamber immediately after the completion of the University's 20th Council Meeting (Special).
The Chairman said Professor Mu'azu Abubakar Gusau scored a total of 79.5%, Professor Mamman Audu Wasagu 76.5 while Professor Umar Adamu Danbatta took the third position with a total of 75.4% among the nineteen applicants invited for interaction.
"The Council has already approved the appointment of Professor Mu'azu Abubakar Gusau as the third Vice-Chancellor of FUGUS to serve for a period of 5 years starting from 10th February 2021," the chairman said.
Mu'azu Abubakar Gusau is a Professor of Toxicology from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, and had obtained his P.hD from the University of Surrey, United Kingdom. NNL.
