A non-governmental organization under the auspices of the Center for Community Action for Peace and Development (CCAPAD) has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to investigate and prosecute those involved in vote buying in the just concluded presidential and gubernatorial elections in the country.
The group stated this in its communique recommendations after a 2-days workshop on the post-election awareness campaign. The communique was jointly signed by its coordinator and secretary, Mallam Sani Yakubu and Dauda Salisu respectively.
Its further resolved that citizens should demand accountability and transparency from elected leaders and political holders.

Some of the topics discussed during the training comprises rigorous training on democracy, good governance, elections monitoring and observation among others key deliverables. Participants had a fairly good understanding of their approach and uses.
The day's training also availed the participants the opportunity to conduct and carry out sensitization campaigns at some market points in Muda Lawal market, Bauchi town and the Miya community in Ganjuwa LGA.
However, at the end of the session, all the participants expressed satisfaction with the quality of training.
NIGERIAN NEWSLEADER Newspaper Correspondent reports that the two-day workshop/sensitization was conducted for the local staff of CCAPAD from Bauchi and Plateau states on active citizen /group participation in civic responsibilities for peaceful 2023 general elections in Nigeria.
