Authorities of the Department of State Services (DSS) have promised a full investigation, along with the police, into the allegation that some personnel of the DSS attacked a police corporal in Osun state which led to his death.
A short statement on Wednesday by the State Service Spokesman, Dr. Peter Afunnanya, said the DSS attention has been drawn to the alleged incidence and assures the Nigerian public however that both the DSS and the Police are jointly probing the alleged tragic attack on the police officer.
According to Dr. Afunnaya, the DSS would not condone acts of indiscipline or injustices allegedly perpetrated against the citizens by the personnel of the State Service. He called on the media and other stakeholders to be patient while the investigating security agencies release the outcome of their findings.
The DSS statement reads thus: "The attention of the Department of State Services (DSS) has been drawn to the incident that led to the death of a Police Corporal in Osun State. Consequently, the Service and the Police are jointly investigating the matter.
The public should be rest assured that it will not condone any acts of indiscipline or injustice. It, therefore, calls on the media and other stakeholders to exercise patience and await the outcome of the investigations". NNL.
