The Ebonyi State Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Barrister Uchenna Orji, on Thursday, congratulated the governor, Engr. Dave Umahi and the First Lady of the state, Chief (Mrs) Rachel Ogonna Umahi, on the occasion of Nigeria's 60th Independence anniversary and on the numerous transformational achievements by the governor which has changed the face of Ebonyi.
In his message of warm felicitations to the governor, his wife and Ebonyi State which incidentally is celebrating its 24th state creation anniversary today, Orji expressed his deep appreciation of the unprecedented innovative accomplishments of governor Umahi in the past five years of his administration especially in the area of massive infrastructural work, citizens empowerment and development of the Ebonyi state economic potentials among others.
The Commissioner stated that he and the entire indigenes of Ebonyi were indeed grateful to God for bringing the governor on board at a time the state was in dire need of a purposeful and committed leadership that would make Ebonyi State the pride of every of her well-meaning citizens.
The Commissioner's Independence anniversary message to the governor, his wife and Ebonyi state at 24, reads thus:
"CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE* *NIGERIA AT 60; EBONYI STATE AT 24
"I, Hon Barr Orji Uchenna Orji, on behalf of my wife, management and staff of the Ministry of Information and State Orientation, most joyfully felicitate with our vision-packed leader and model of good governance, His Excellency Engr. Chief David Nweze Umahi FNSE, FNATE, (Akubaraoha) Governor of Ebonyi State and the virtuous mother of tender compassion, Her Excellency, Chief Mrs. Rachel Ogonna Umahi (Ogoo Nwanyi ) on this historic 60th Independence Anniversary of Nigeria and gratifying 24th Anniversary of the creation Ebonyi State.
"Your Excellency, we are deeply proud of the wonders of great historic accomplishments which your administration has innovatively rendered in the last five years. In Nigeria today, it is a testimony everywhere that Ebonyi State has the fastest growing economy, has the most beautiful capital city, biggest ecumenical centre, biggest light tunnel, biggest shopping mall, smoothest and most durable road network, biggest rice milling plants and rice milling clusters, biggest pulverization plant, biggest mushroom plant, highest number of flyovers after Abuja and Lagos, most aesthetic water fountains with Africa’s biggest water fountain; most beautiful Government House; biggest stadium and biggest International airport after Abuja and Lagos,to be completed on record time; biggest fertilizer blending plant and biggest international market in the South East and most formidable street light system that shines 12 hours non-stop. Your Midas touch in the Sectors of Health, Education, Agricultural Revolution and Human Capital is simply amazing.
"Your Excellency, we are eternally grateful to God Almighty for giving you unto us; you have given us a sense of self actualization that will reinvent in us, a competitive spirit among our contemporaries in the comity of states. You have made our state a strong voice in national political equation and a rallying point in comparative leadership discourse.
"We thank all the stakeholders of this Divine Mandate project for a job well done, particularly His Excellency, the Deputy Governor, Barr. Eric Kelechi Igwe, PhD; the Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru; the Chief Judge, His Lordship, Hon. Justice Anselm N. Nwigwe and his brother Judges; the National Vice Chairman of PDP, Chief Austin Umahi (Anyanwu Ndigbo ); the State PDP Chairman, Barr.
