- Rejoices With Bayelsa Gov Over Election Victory At Appeal Court

The Ebonyi State Governor, Engr. Dave Nweze Umahi, has extended his message of warm felicitations to President Muhammadu Buhari on the occasion of Nigeria's celebration of her 60th Independent anniversary.
In a goodwill message personally signed by Governor Umahi, the Ebonyi Chief Executive said though the nation has endured several challenges in her tortuous march to nationhood in the past 60 years, the occasion was a veritable opportunity for the country and her citizens to celebrate her successes and reflect on her challenges "so as to deepen our goals of actualizing the dreams of our heroes past in our quest for the socio-economic and political progress of our nation".
Umahi said this underscores the divine will to get Nigeria back on track, despite the existing challenges. He stated that it is heartwarming that the Buhari administration has remained undaunted in its desire to build systems and structures that will guarantee the actualization of the potentials of Nigeria's Federation. The governor assured the President that "Ebonyi state shares in this collective desire to move our nation forward in unity and love.
"On this auspicious occasion therefore, I most profoundly convey to Your Excellency our dear President, the best wishes and warmest regards of the government and people of Ebonyi State “Salt of the Nation”, governor Umahi told the President.
In another development, governor Umahi extends his heart-felt congratulations to the Bayelsa State governor, Senator Duoye Diri, on the Appeal Court's decision at the weekend to affirm his election as Bayelsa governor on November 16, 2019.
In a congratulatory message to his Bayelsa counterpart signed on his behalf by the Ebonyi State Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Hon (Barrister) Orji Uchenna Orji, governor Umahi said he was gratified that the mandate the people of Bayelsa State gave to Dirt through an overwhelming victory at the poll were not truncated by shear judicial technicalities.
Governor Umahi expressed his elation thus: "The Appeal Court's judgment is therefore a bold confirmation of the choice of the electorates expressed in their votes at the polls" .He thanked the appellant Court for upholding the will of the people and congratulates Bayelsians for their solidarity and confidence in the ability of Governor Duoye Diri in delivering in the social contract with the people.
Umahi assured governor Diri of the "prayers and best wishes of the government and People of Ebonyi State throughout the period of the judicial struggle", he said in the statement. NNL.
