The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, last Tuesday, received and interacted with participants of the National Institute of Security Studies (NISS) Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) 19, who were on a study tour of Enugu State.

Addressing the participants, the Commissioner presented an overview of the security situation in the State, highlighting the Command’s efforts in deploying both kinetic and non-kinetic strategies to combat crime.

He also outlined prevailing security challenges and assured that the Police, in collaboration with other security agencies, will continue to sustain peace and ensure that Enugu State remains one of the safest in the country.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the team lead, Mr. Olalekan Fashanu, disclosed that the theme of the study tour is “Ethnic Militia and Resource Competition in Enugu State: Implications for National Security.” He explained that the tour is designed to expose participants to first-hand information through direct engagement with key stakeholders, including the Commissioner of Police.

The course participants, drawn from Nigeria and foreign law enforcement agencies and organisations, engaged the Commissioner in interactive discussions, asking questions and receiving responses relevant to the theme of the study tour. NNL.
