Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has received Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Bauchi Oil and Gas Academy’s permanent site in Alkaleri Local Government Area.
In his speech, Governor Mohammed stated that the concept for the academy was initiated shortly after the discovery of oil in Kolmani, with the aim of equipping the youth for future opportunities and challenges in the energy industry.
He acknowledged the vital role played by former President Muhammadu Buhari in realizing the Kolmani Oil Project, describing it as a historic achievement for both Bauchi and Nigeria.
Mohammed expressed gratitude to the Federal Government and the Minister for their continued collaboration.
Responding, Senator Lokpobiri, who laid the foundation stone, commended Governor Mohammed for his foresight and dedication to human capital development.
He urged Bauchi residents to support both the state and federal governments in advancing sustainable development.
The Minister reaffirmed his commitment to the Kolmani Oil Field’s success and pledged ongoing federal support to ensure Bauchi’s emergence as a significant player in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry. NNL.
