It was joy and great elation as the people of Umuokorouba autonomous community in Ozalla gateway town to Nkanu land and Four Corners Urban Area, on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, received a brand new 300KVA electricity transformer donated to them by a House of Representatives member for Nkanu East/West Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon Nnolim Nnaji.
The donation was part of the urban power distribution project initiated by the parliamentarian in furtherance of his community development initiatives in his constituency in Enugu state, South East, Nigeria.
The new transformer was made available to the Umuokorouba autonomous community/four corners urban area for the replacement of the old, weak single transformer serving the area which was said to have broke down recently. The won out transformer was also said to have suffered incessant blow-up in the recent past due to alleged overload, that left the community in darkness for several weeks.
Following this development, an indigene of the community and a Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor of Enugu State on Mainstream Media, Mr Dan Nwomeh, was said to have reached out to the federal lawmaker, Hon. Nnolim Nnaji, and to the newly created Enugu State Electricity Commission, to come to the assistance of the affected community.
This outreach however yielded result in the acquisition of the brand new 300KVA Transformer by Hon. Nnolim Nnaji through his Constituency office in Agbani, the headquarter of Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu state, one of his Constituency Council.
The new transformer which has been handed over to the leadership of Ozalla Development Union (ODU) led by Chief Patrick Obiora Okwuibe through its facilitator, Dan Nwomeh, for onward delivery to the beneficiary Umuokorouba community/four corners urban, was born out of a promise to the community by Hon Nnolim Nnaji during the Saturday, November 16, 2024 flag-off of the N1.5 billion FGN Senior Secondary School upgrade project, (The only one in Enugu state) said to have been attracted to Ozalla High School by the House of Reps member.
On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, the Enugu governor's Media Assistant and facilitator of the transformer, Mr Dan Nwomeh, was contacted by the Agbani Campaign Office of the federal lawmaker, Hon. Nnolim Nnaji, to come and take delivery of the new electricty transformer.
While expressing his gratitude and that of the people of Umuokorouba autonomous community/four corners urban area, President-General of Ozalla Development Union (ODU), Chief Patrick Obiora Okwuibe, thanked both Hon Nnolim Nnaji and Mr Dan Nwomeh for their timely intervention in restoring hope for a stable electricity supply to the people of the area.
Okwuibe specifically commended the Reps member, Hon. Nnolim Nnaji, for what he described as his true and responsive representation of his Federal Constituency, Nkanu East/West, at the National Assembly, Abuja.
According to Okwuibe, "Our people are happy at this gesture. Let us appreciate the good deeds of Rt. Hon. Nnolim Nnaji in fulfilling his promise to the people of Okorouba/Four Corners Urban that gave him a massive vote in his last election. We also appreciate the goodwill of our son, Hon. Dan Nwomeh.
"With this, the challenge of low current, power fluctuation and incessant blow up of the sole transformer will hopefully be solved as supply/consumption will now be split to guarantee stable power and smooth usage! Congratulations Ndị Ozalla!
