As the final phase of Continuos Voters Registration Exercise begin May 11th to end on 10th July, 2026, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has appealed to residents of Sokoto state to take advantage of the this last window and register enmass.
INEC which said it is yet another opportunity for eligible citizens to register and obtain their Permanent Voter's Cards (PVCs) added that the CVR exercise will be conducted both online via pre-registration and physical registration points for in-person registration.
A statement issued by Sokoto INEC Public Affairs Officer, Hassan Sarki Gendane on behalf of the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Umar Yusuf Garba appealed to the people of Sokoto to ensure they are registered ahead of upcoming elections.
While admonishing all and sundry who are eligible strive and participate in the electoral process, Umar Yusuf said they should ensure that they are not left out.
"Your participation is critical to the growth of our democracy. We urge everyone in Sokoto State to register and collect their PVCs as this is the final chance before the exercise concludes. The deadline for registration is fast approaching, so act now.
"The CVR process includes both online and physical registration, with specific timelines for each activity. Additionally, individuals who have lost their PVCs, need to transfer their registration, or wish to update their information can now handle these processes without visiting the INEC office. These services can be accessed online at cvr.inecnigeria.org providing a convenient and efficient option for all registered voters.
"The Commission urges everyone to abide by the timelines and ensure that all necessary steps are completed within the provided period'. The statement read in part. NNL.
