The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Abia State Chapter has inaugurated new standing and ad-hoc committees, aiming to drive its programmes and the strategic direction of the new leadership.

The event was held at the February edition of it's monthly meeting.

Inaugurating the committees, Chairman of the Chapter, Onyinye Ralph-Nwachukwu reiterated the readiness of her administration to take advantage of the upcoming programmes of the Institute to gain national and global relevance, urging members to participate in large numbers.

Ralph-Nwachukwu, a Fellow of the Institute announced that the first-ever International Women’s Day celebration by NIPR coming up March 30, 2026, the 3rd Nigeria Public Relations Week scheduled to hold from April 19–25, 2026, in Kaduna State as well as the World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) in November this year offer members of the Chapter huge opportunity for professional growth and effective service delivery at their various places of work, calling on them not to be left behind.

A release by the Chapter's PRO, Promise Uzoma Okoro further quoted the Chairman as stressing that her administrative focus prioritizes strengthening professional training, promoting continuous capacity building, encouraging professionalization and compliance with the NIPR Act as well as upholding ethical standards within the profession.

She emphasized that professional development would remain central to the administration, noting that “a Chapter that does not grow its members cannot grow its influence.

"Chairman disclosed that these ad-hoc and statutory committees would drive key initiatives of the Chapter, adding that additional appointments would follow as new strategic focus areas emerge.

"She called on members to cooperate fully with committee chairs and contribute actively to ensure the Chapter’s success", Okoro stated.

Describing collaboration as a strategic pillar, the Chapter said it would partner with government agencies, media organizations, corporate institutions, and academic bodies to enhance visibility and position NIPR in the state as a thought leader in strategic communication.

Among others, Local Organising Committees for WPRF 2026 and 3rd NPRW, Media and Publicity Committee were inaugurated. NNL.
