A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Bruder Hilfe Social Development Initiative, has donated 81 Wheeler carbs to persons with disability in Sokoto state courtesy of a philanthropist, AlhaAl-Mustapha Sarkin Kebbi Yabo.
This year's theme for the celebration of the international day for persons with disabilities is: "Building back better toward a disability inclusive, accessible and sustainable post Covid - 19 World "
Speaking during the occasion, Alhaji Al-Mustapha Sarkin Kebbi Yabo, said in 2018, Bruder Hilfe had also shown its footprints in the state when Mrs Mary Bamigbe of Baruder mainstream donated a 40ft container full of Hospital beds at his instance.
He said putting smiles on the faces of the persons with disability remains the cardinal principle of Bruder Hilfe and speaks volumes of their continued magnanimity.
The president further explained that the Bruder Hilfe (brotherly help) is a non profit organization located in Nigeria and in Germany and also dedicated to assisting vulnerable members in the society.
He said that last year, the organization was in Missouri on a similar mission where it donated 100 wheelchairs to persons living with disabilities which cut across internally displaced persons and people who became disabled as a result of the insurgency as well as victims of sporadic gun shots and bomb blasts.
"this year, the organization donated another 90 mobility carts in Bauchi state which were given to carefully selected beneficiaries. Our intention is to extend the gesture to all the 36 states of Nigeria", says the Bruder Hilfe president.
Mr John Bunyan, the president of the organization specially thankAl-Mustapha Sarkin Kebbi Yabo and other donor agencies such as Measured Center for Poverty Reduction and Nigerian Ambassador to Germany, Yusuf Maiyama Rugger, for their support to the cause of humanity.
In his remark, Al-Mustapha Sarkin Kebbi Yabo said more wheel carbs would be made available to disable persons in Sokoto state, adding that the Corona Virus pandemic hindered the supply of the remaining chairs from Germany to make them 300.
He said more hospital equipment would be made available to Hospitals in Sokoto, Isa and Yabo.
