Chairman of Udenu Local Government Area in Nsukka axis of Enugu North, Enugu State, Hon. Solomon Izuchukwu Onah, on Saturday, commended the peaceful atmosphere of voting exercise in the polling units within his council area.
Onah who went round Udenu Council to monitor the voting process and to also exercise his electoral franchise in the Presidential and National Assembly elections, however urged the people of his local council to "maintain serene ambience" during the voting exercise.
The council chairman who is also the candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state for Enugu State House of Assembly Udenu Constituency casted his vote at his Umuezejor hometown polling unit, Obollo Eke ward at about 10:15am.
Shortly after casting his vote, Hon. Solomon Onah expressed fulfilment at the peaceful atmosphere that pervades the conduct of the election so far and advised the people to continue in such amiable ambience.
From there, the Udenu Council boss went across all wards visiting many polling booths to ascertain that things are going on well. At each stop, he would ask the party agents to comply with the INEC guidelines and avoid any act capable of undermining the free and fair process. NNL.
