Honorable Festus Agbazue , a candidate for State House of Assembly, Ihiala (II) constituency, Anambra State on the platform of Labour Party (LP), has reaffirmed his commitment to improve the living condition of the people of Ihiala (II) constituency.
Agbazue, spoke recently in Abuja after he declared his interest to contest for the State House of Assembly election on the platform of Labour Party come 2023. He stressed that he is positive about a good outcome due to the ideologies and policies of the party and the new political order by the presidential flag bearer of the party, Mr Peter Obi.
The aspirant said he decided to join the race and emerged winner after a keenly contested primary election, to restore the glory of Ihiala community. He pledged to be the embodiment of the true spirit of selflessness, responsibility, fairness, courage, hard work and commitment to social justice.
He said, “We would give priority to education, championing literacy excellence at all levels of education through financial support for students". He added that another area of focus is the Youth and Women Empowerment, Infrastructure and Industrial Development ; Health, Sports and Social Services in the communities.
"We would also be including some developmental projects like roads as well as fix our electricity. In so doing, we will cut our problems in half, as many businesses need power supply to thrive and improve their general well being."
While stressing the need for a Special Project Trust Fund and Health insurance Scheme, he emphasized bringing hope to people many of who are in hopeless situations by organising poverty alleviation programs.
Agbazue pointed out the need to engage residents and farmers for food security. He noted that Agriculture, the mainstay of Ihiala people, will be given holistic attention." Aside from support to farmers through purchase of seedlings, implements, insecticides and equipment for primary processing, we shall work with other levels of government to ensure that our farmers get their fair share of available resources and opportunities", he stated.
He also pledged for prudent utilisation of constituency funds for genuine, people-focussed, transparent and verifiable projects and programs with the support of his team. NNL.
