* Our Choice Of Anyim, Non-Negotiable...Ebonyi PDP

As his presidential quest in 2023 seemingly gathers strong momentum across Nigeria, the Ebonyi State Chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), has resolved to 'swim and sink' with former Senate President, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim.
The party also said on Monday, December 6, 2021, shortly a conclave of its State Working Committee at Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, that the leadership of the party has resolved that the choice of Anyim as the presidential candidate of the party is certainly 'none negotiable'.
The State Publicity Secretary of the party, Nwoba Chika Nwoba, disclosed that the Ebonyi PDP would be presenting Anyim for the Presidential Primary of the party and would also work unanimously and assiduously for his emergence as the party's flagbearer for the presidential poll in 2023.
Chairman of the party in the state, Mr. Tochuku Okorie, stated that Ebonyi is "simply Lucky and proud to have Anyim as a citizen of the state. Anyim is one Nigerian who is eminently qualified on his own for the job, irrespective of his state of origin. He has the capacity to steer the current rudderless ship of Nigeria into a successful anchor".
Okorie also stated that the resolution of the State Working Committee of the party to stand with Anyim was not just because he is from Ebonyi but because his pedigree is unassailable. "His past is an elegant testimony of what his future holds for Nigeria", Okorie reasoned.
The Ebonyi PDP Chairman however re-echoed the fact that anytime Nigeria was in a perilous condition, "God always sent His own for a rescue mission". According to him, marketing Anyim by the party to Nigerians is very easy because he "had rescued Nigeria in the past when the country was faced with similar challenges".
The PDP boss in Ebonyi quickly recalled the prominent roles Senator Pius Anyim had played to stabilize the National Assembly "when it's Senate wing was messed up with what was commonly described then as the banana peels. Anyim had played valuable roles. He led eminent Nigerians to persuade the National Assembly to adopt the famous doctrine of Necessity that resolved the then political logjam in the country".
The PDP Chairman described Pius Anyim as a 'natural stabilizer' who, he said, Nigerians should ordinarily "repose their hopes on to stabilize the current wobbling state of the nation". He further reiterated that the state executive of the PDP had decided to reach out to other states executives of the party throughout the federation to woo and persuade them in order to draw more support for Anyim.
The party, he said, also resolved to appeal and persuade the National Working Committee and the National Executive Committee of the PDP to consider seriously, the zoning of its presidency to the southeast geo-political zone. NNL.
