  • * Cautions Against Attack On Gov. Sule
  • Says It Cannot Continue To Romance With Fifth Columnist

By David Okpashi (Nasarawa State Correspondent, in Lafia)

The ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Nasarawa state has warned it's dissatisfied members against uncomplimentary statements against the office of the state governor Abdullahi Sule.

The party also said it may debug itself of moles in view of the fact the ruling party will rather concentrate and remain focused on it's mandate of delivering the dividends of democracy to the people especially in the face of the economic hardship faced by the people.

In a statement by its publicly Secretary, Chief Douglas Otaru and made available to Journalists in Lafia, said the party note of caution is to draw the attention of those it described as "rabble rousers who go about with uncomplimentary statements against the noble office of the the Executive Governor"

"The APC may debug itself of moles as it cannot continue to romance with fifth columnist within its fold. Elections have since come and gone, any supposed member still harbouring hate and mischief against the policies and programmes of Engr Abdullahi A Sule may be declared persona non grata"

According to the statement, "it is politically incorrect for any member of the party no matter how highly placed to continue to exhibit disdain and acts capable of denigrating the sanctity of the office of the Governor.

"At this critical period where the supremacy and cohesion of the party is non negotiable, the party will not hesitate to purge itself of such misguided members who are hiding under the glory of their former offices to cause strifes within the ranks of the party as they are often seen grandstanding on issues of state illogically all for the sake of their personal greed and thereby, posing a dangerous threats to the party.

"While we remain committed to deploying all reconciliatory mechanisms in assuaging the feelings of the genuinely aggrieved members of the party, it should be on note that the continued unwarranted attacks on the government by those infectious bugs who viciously and flagrantly worked against the interest of the party during the elections and litigation period and still having the audacity to taunt the government in bad light will no longer be tolerated", the statement declared.

"We wish to caution therefore that party members should respect constituted authority, uphold the ideals of the party and shun acts capable of further dividing us. You are either with us or against us, "it is irrational for anyone to forbid eating a particular type of meat but yet, taking delight in licking its sauce"

The statement further explained that as a party, it has since forgiven those against the party of their misdeeds, but added that it is obvious they are yet to forgive themselves of their unholy activities.

"While we respect the sanctity of the party's constitution, we wish to once again, extend our amnesty to them to become born again, refrain from desperation and work with the party for the progress of the state, failure of which will warrant the evocation of the appropriate disciplinary sanctions", the statement declared.
