When the polish prelate Karol Wortjila, emerged from the Conclave on Monday, October 16, 1978, as Pope John Paul II, not a few persons expressed morbid fear that the papacy under him may be a disaster judging from his background as a sufferer of the evil of Narcissism and the injustice of communism.
