The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has continued to expand its political structure in Bauchi State with the formal admission of former Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) North-East Zonal Coordinator, Alhaji Adamu Abba Galajen Bauchi, into its fold.

Galajen, a traditional title holder in the Bauchi Emirate and retired Federal Civil Service Director, joined the party alongside his supporters on Saturday as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.

His defection was witnessed by ADC leaders, including the Bauchi South Senatorial candidate, Alhaji Garba Dahiru, and Bauchi Central State Constituency candidate, Alhaji Imamu Ahmad Tukur.

Speaking at the event, Galajen said the ADC represented an alternative platform for Nigerians seeking better leadership and development.

He urged party members to unite and work towards victory in 2027, stressing that the country required leaders who would prioritise security, economic development, unity and good governance.

He criticised what he described as the failure of successive leadership to adequately address the country’s economic and security challenges.

Galajen said Nigerians should not see the country’s problems as insurmountable, insisting that competent, honest and committed leadership could transform the nation.

He urged ADC supporters, particularly youths, to avoid political violence, insults and personal attacks during the electioneering campaign.

According to him, supporters should focus on communicating the qualities and programmes of ADC candidates to the electorate.

He urged voters to support Atiku Abubakar for President, Halliru Dauda Jika for Governor of Bauchi State, Garba Dahiru for Bauchi South Senator, Dan Alfa for the House of Representatives and Imamu Ahmad Tukur for Bauchi Central State Constituency.

The ADC Chairman in Bauchi LGA, Alhaji Haruna Sabon Kaura, said the party would provide a level playing field for members and aspirants.

He described Galajen’s entry as a significant addition to the party’s growing political organisation in Bauchi.

Garba Dahiru and Imamu Ahmad Tukur also welcomed the former SON official, saying his decision would strengthen the ADC as it builds its structures across the state ahead of the 2027 elections. NNL.
