Muhammad Sani a dreaded bandit notoriously known as Zakwi, a son of the late bandit's commander, Buhari Daji today surrendered over 10 sophisticated weapons which include Rocket launcher, MAP machine, AK47 rifles, and 1041 live ammunitions to the Zamfara state government.

The Department of State Services (DSS), on Friday, denied a report in a national newspaper (not Nigerian Newsleader Newspapers) that operatives of the Security Service attempted to arrest Mr. Sunday Adeyemo (aka Sunday Igboho) a self-acclaimed Yoruba activist and perceived ethnic bigot, at Ibadan, Oyo State, on Friday.

Zamfara state governor, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has ordered the closure of all boarding schools in the state with immediate effect, following Friday's abduction of female students of Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS) Jangebe in Talata Mafara local government area of the state.

In the aftermath of the abduction of 317 female students of Government Girls Science Secondary School (GGSSS) Jangebe, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state in the company of Sultan Sa'ad Abubakar have visited governor Matawalle to sympathize with the government and people of Zamfara state over the unfortunate event.
