Ahead of the forthcoming 2027 general election, the Sokoto State Deputy Governorship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Hon. Bello Isa Ambarura, has said his party is not only fully prepared for the contest but will also emerge victorious at the end of the day.
Hon. Ambarura, a serving House of Representatives members member representing Gwadabawa/Illela Federal Constituency granted brief interview to newsmen shortly after his "thank you" visit to the party secretariat in Sokoto where he registered his appreciation to the party leadership having considered him fit for the position.
The lawmaker, while noting that there are many other qualified persons in the party to be picked as running mate, added however that, his choice like any other candidates of their party was based on merit.
"My visit to our party's Secretariat is simply to thank the state executives and party faithfuls for choosing me as deputy governorship running mate out of thousands. And I also appreciated them for their mysupport just as I solicited for further cooperation."
Asked on why he was picked amongst many others, Hon. Ambarura emphatically said the party considered merit as well as his over three meritorious decades of public service.
"Of course, the party has considered merit. All of you know that I have been in the state civil service for over 35 years and I rendered deligent service. I rose from from a Clerk up to the Permanent Secretary.
"I was once a Permanent Secretary of the State Pilgrim Welfare Agency and I served diligently.
" I also served as a member of the State.House of Assembly, and now I am serving as a member of the House of Representatives, representing Gwadabawa and Illela Federal Constituency. That is the criteria.
We just have like six months to the election now. We are ready".
Continuing, Hon. Ambarura said his. appeal to ADC members across Sokoto is to support the party, just as he said the will of Allah will surely manifest at the end of the elections.
"We are ready to participate actively and also pray to Almighty Allah to give us success." Hon. Ambarura said. NNL.
