The Bauchi State Police Command says it has dismantled a suspected vehicle theft network with the arrest of three suspects linked to the theft of a stolen Opel Vectra recovered in Bauchi.

The Command's Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, said the breakthrough followed intelligence received on June 29 concerning the theft of a green Opel Vectra with registration number AH 232 AKK belonging to a resident of Katsinawa Village, Bauchi.

He explained that operatives from the 'E' Division intercepted the stolen vehicle at Dorawan Dillalai and arrested one suspect before extending investigations to Gombe State.

According to the police, two more suspects, Abubakar Musa, 46, and Usman Abubakar, 30, were apprehended while allegedly negotiating to buy the stolen vehicle.

The suspects reportedly confessed during interrogation and admitted they had engaged in similar criminal activities previously.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, lauded the professionalism of the officers involved and appreciated the public for providing credible information that led to the arrests.

He reaffirmed the Command's resolve to sustain intelligence-led operations aimed at tackling vehicle theft and related crimes across the state. NNL.
