The Bauchi State Government has directed primary and secondary schools in the state to resume on the 12th of October 2020, to complete the 2019/2020 academic session, subject to the compliance of COVID 19 regulations on school reopening.

As schools across the country prepare to reopen, experts have warned that the shortage of toilets and hand washing facilities in schools put students at serious risk of getting infected with COVID-19.

The experts urged the government to urgently take steps to ensure provision of toilet and hand washing facilities in all the schools or suspend schooling for the rest of the year.

Following its earlier decision to re-open secondary schools on Tuesday August 4 for students in the exit classes to write their West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSEC), the federal government, on Wednesday, came out with a comprehensive schedule for various national examinations for graduating students in both the Junior Secondary School (JSS) 3 and Senior Secondary School (SSS)3.

From Tuesday August 4, 2020, all Secondary Schools in Nigeria will reopen for students of graduating classes to enable them prepare adequately for their West African Examinations, WAEC.
